Many children make their first visit to a museum as part of an organised school group. A visit to the Museum of Lakeland Life will give students an insight into the past and encourage them to explore further the fascinating history of the Lake District.
Workshops
The Museum of Lakeland Life offers two hands-on workshops, Toys of the Past and Homes of the Past. Students are able to dress up and handle Victorian toys, or experience what it was like to do chores around the house. Workshops last up to 1 hour 30 minutes and cost £90 per class of 30.
Loan Boxes
We have a comprehensive Loan Service available, covering many of the subjects that you can study at the Museum of Lakeland Life. These can be useful before or after making a visit to the museum to reinforce learning. Inside each box you will find a selection of objects and notes.
