A display of rag rugs from the Museum’s historical collection will be set against the work of contemporary makers. This ties in with the Museum’s programme of craft demonstrations, which occur during Cumbrian school holidays, where the techniques of rag rug making are demonstrated.

Mind Your P’s and Q’s

This display will showcase the Museum’s collection of items relating to letter press printing. Printing demonstrations on the Columbian Press in the Museum can be viewed at specific times during Cumbrian school holidays.

The Art of Lace

Bobbins, lace pillows and fine examples from the Museum’s collection will be exhibited alongside the work of contemporary local lace makers. Practical demonstrations of lace making can be viewed at specific times during Cumbrian school holidays.
