THE LAKELAND ARTS TRUST
'The Four Friends' 1796 by George Romney

The Lakeland Arts Trust (reg. charity No. 526980) is the charitable trust which runs The Museum in addition to Abbot Hall Art Gallery and Blackwell the Arts and Crafts House.

Its aim is to give inspiration and enjoyment through direct contact with the work of artists and craftsmen. It also believes that understanding and knowledge of art and artists is likely to add to and enhance an audience's level of enjoyment. The Trust therefore has education at its core and this is seen as it's primary function.

As a registered charity, we relies heavily on charitable donations and sponsorship which includes many private individuals as well as charitable trusts and commercial companies.
