Rag Rugging Demonstrations

Every Other Wednesday, 2pm

Every other Wednesday afternoon discover this traditional craft and see a demonstration of rag rugs being made.

These frugal and eco-friendly rugs recycle scraps of old fabric into a beautiful new objects. They are known as rag 'hooky', or 'proddy' rugs and have been used in Lake District  houses for centuries. Join our demonstrator to see a rag rug being made and to discuss the craft.

Please call the museum on 01539 722 464 to find out when the next Rag Rugging Wednesday is taking place.
